Refrigerated Shipping Container Converted into a Cold Room

Refrigerated container:

• Interior surfaces in stainless steel and aluminium (easy to clean)
• Corten steel structure, highly resistant to corrosion
• Insulated walls, floor and ceiling in 7 cm thick sandwich panels (polyurethane foam enclosed in aluminium sheets)
• Watertight container, original double doors in working order, structural integrity OK
• Floor: T-section aluminium rails.

 

After years of use and ocean travel around the globe, second-hand containers naturally show signs of wear: impact marks and dents in particular, which will remain visible after repainting.

 

Refrigeration unit:

• Power supply: 380 V
• Brand: Thermoking, Daikin or Carrier (year of manufacture, brands and models subject to availability).
• Temperature range: -25°C to +25°C
• Refrigerant: R134a (HCF gas with no harmful effect on the ozone layer)

All our second-hand refrigerated containers are sold tested and repainted. A valid PTI test is carried out before any sale. However, refrigerated containers ARE NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY, AND ARE NEITHER RETURNED NOR EXCHANGED.

Cold room conversion:

• Container refurbishment: anti-corrosion treatment of the entire structure and all worked areas, polyurethane-based two-component metallic repaint “PU 950” (colour: white).
• Floor: perforated aluminium added on top of the original rail floor (allows air circulation)
• Doors: replaced by an isothermal pivot door (W: 1.40 x H: 2.10 m) with heating cord (opening direction of your choice), insulated sandwich frame (aluminium + PU foam) 100 mm thick. Internal emergency release (push-button type).
• PVC strip curtain, “deep-freeze” quality
• Electrical pack: P17 / IP44 / 32 A / 380 V to 415 V / 3P+N+T connection socket | 2 double waterproof LED batten lights | 1 IP55 switch | 3 waterproof 230 V power sockets.
• Anti-entrapment alarm: external housing, battery (50 h autonomy), siren, exterior warning light, push-button emergency release and nightlight placed inside the cold room, allowing any trapped person to trigger the alarm.
